Who we are
This notice covers The Melusine’s website and the information you share when you contact our restaurant at Ivory House, East Smithfield, St Katharine Docks, London E1W 1AT.
For privacy questions or requests, email hello@themelusine.co.uk, call 020 7702 2976 or write to us at the address above.
Information you share
When you make an enquiry, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number and the details of your proposed visit or event, such as the date, guest numbers, occasion and budget.
You may also choose to share dietary or accessibility requirements. These can reveal sensitive information, so please share only what our team needs to help arrange your visit. You can discuss these details with us directly instead of putting them in a website enquiry.
Our hosting and security services may process technical information, including your IP address, browser information and requests to the site, to deliver pages and protect against misuse.
How we use information
We use contact and event details to answer your questions, discuss availability and help organise your visit. Responding to an enquiry does not add you to a marketing list.
Depending on the request, our basis for using ordinary contact and booking information is taking steps towards a booking or providing the agreed service, our legitimate interest in responding to guests and keeping the website secure, or meeting a legal obligation. Where we ask for consent, you can withdraw it by contacting us.
Dietary or accessibility details you choose to provide are used to discuss your needs and plan your visit. Please contact the team if you would like to change or remove these details.
Bookings, payments & service providers
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. We use service providers for hosting, security, email, reservations and payments where needed to deliver the service you request. We do not sell your personal information.
Table reservations open on OpenTable. Gift voucher purchases open on Square, where payment information is entered. Card details are not collected by this website’s enquiry form. These providers explain their own data practices during booking or checkout.
When the online enquiry form is available, Cloudflare Turnstile helps prevent automated submissions and Resend delivers the enquiry email. Sending the form shares the details you enter with the services needed to deliver it to the restaurant.
Some providers operate internationally. Contact us if you would like information about the providers involved in your request and the protections applying to any transfer of your information outside the UK. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies & external links
This website does not currently enable advertising or analytics cookies. Hosting and security services may use technologies needed to operate and protect the site. If optional tracking is introduced, the relevant information and choices will be provided before it is enabled.
We store a small preference in your browser for up to six months to remember when you dismiss the cookie notice. It records the dismissal time and is not used for analytics or advertising. You can reopen the notice using Cookies in the footer, or remove the preference in your browser’s storage settings.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to display them. Links to booking, payment, map and social media services take you to external websites, whose own privacy and cookie policies apply.
Keeping information
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to handle your request, arrange the service and resolve any related questions. Booking, payment or other records may need to be kept longer to meet legal or accounting requirements.
We limit access to people and service providers who need the information for these purposes. Contact us if you would like to know what information we hold about your enquiry or to request its removal.
Your choices & rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have rights to access your information, correct it, request deletion, restrict its use, object to certain uses or receive a portable copy. The rights available depend on the circumstances and the reason the information is used.
Email hello@themelusine.co.uk to make a request. We may need to confirm your identity before sharing personal information.
If you have a concern, please contact us so we can try to resolve it. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator.
Updates to this notice
We may update this notice as our website or services change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Contact us if you have a question about how an update affects your information.
